Aid Stations:
- Please see the Aid Station Chart for locations of the various aid stations along the course. Most all have limited parking on-site, but a couple do not, so please check the parking details column before you head out there. Due to the limited parking, please do not park for more than 20 minutes at any one aid station so that others can get in as well.
- You can use this google map to navigate to various locations along the course. But keep in mind that cell service is very limited in some areas of the course, so it might be a good idea to research routes before you get out there in case you lose signal!
- Helpful Tip: There is limited cellphone signal on many portions of the course. Download the race area on google maps for offline use so you always have access to direction.
Parking:
- As mentioned above, parking may be limited or not allowed at certain points on the course. If you arrive to find a No Parking or Lot Full sign, please move along or try again later.
- No cars Except for relays are allowed in the Campground area (aid station #9). Cars can park at the Visitors Center or Lake parking and walk over. The event could be shutdown if this is not followed!
- Parking is NOT allowed on the grass or along the side of the road anywhere within the state parks, this includes Flinchum Rd at the finish line! You will be ticketed if you don’t adhere to this rule.
- Follow specific parking restrictions listed in the aid station chart.
RaceJoy:
- We are offering this awesome free tracking app for runners and their spectators! Make sure you download the RaceJoy app before race day and get your runner’s bib number (you can track more than one runner!). If your runner carries their phone during the race, you will be able to track them live on a map, receive progress alerts, and send encouragement via pre-recorded or custom text-to-audio messages!
Other Things to Do:
- Both Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks offer plenty of hikes for various levels and some spectacular views! Keep in mind that they get busy during the day, so getting in and out of the park may take a little time up and down winding roads.
- Carolina Ziplines offers adventure for all ages and is only about 15 minutes from the finish line.
- For more local info and a great guide for the area around the finish line, download the Hanging Rock - Stokes County visitor's app!
